This piece was written in my senior year of high school, and received one performance at a high school concert. Like many composers, I had assumed that my high school pieces would stay in the desk drawer forever! However, when Kate Forman and I were looking for repertoire to play in a recital, we decided to pull out Two Round Dances and read it through. To my surprise, we found that it was still enjoyable to play after all these years, and we performed it in recital at Christ Church of Oyster Bay, NY, in November 2006.
