I wonder what Sigmund Freud would have said about this dream. There's a bit of mystery, a touch of mysticism, cartoonish marching, goofy dancing, some romance, reflection, and even a chase scene. Strange Dream is a fantasia based on several recurring motives. The title hints at the stream of consciousness progression of the piece, with its abrupt changes of mood and stylistic juxtapositions.
